The “Aha Moment”

Slumberlights, as we pointed out in the last blog post, was created to market glow-in-the-dark ceiling fan blades. Those proved to be too bright and too “in your face”.

What we learned from this experience is that lighting an entire room gently, even with a better wavelength, was not effective. As ships have known, we learned that humans can navigate with simple markers. This led to the creation of our TravelLight Glow-in-the-Dark nightlights. Just like our other products, they glow less harshly than blue LED’s and they glow enough to point the way.

If you wake in a strange hotel room to visit the bathroom, what you need it a pointer to where the obstacles and pathways are. Put a TravelLight at the corner of the bed and another at the bathroom door entrance. You may even want one on the toilet tank or below the toilet paper holder. With these, you can easily navigate to the bathroom and back. The fourth can be under your water bottle on the bedside table. Easy Peezy.

  • Just enough light, throughout the night.

  • The right wavelength to be seen and not trigger the waking response.

  • Easily mobile.

  • Does not rely upon electricity or foreign plugs.

  • Low cost, easily replaced if lost.
